From Elstree Soaps by Hannah — an award-winning artisan soap maker based in Hertfordshire, practically our neighbour. Hannah holds a neuroscience degree, which informs her meticulous approach to formulation. Every bar is handcrafted in small batches using her signature trio of butters — shea, mango and cocoa. Member of the Guild of Craft Soap and Toiletry Makers. Vegan, palm oil free, plastic-free packaging. No SLS, no silicones, no parabens, no phthalates, no synthetic fragrance. Just beautiful soap.
An Elstree Soaps bar is genuinely different from anything you’ll find in a supermarket. Hannah’s signature recipe uses a triple butter base — shea, mango and cocoa — that produces a soap with an extraordinary creaminess, a beautiful lather and a moisturising quality that leaves skin visibly softer after just a few washes. Cold-process made, cured for weeks, and wrapped in plastic-free packaging.
What Makes It Different
- Triple butter formula — shea butter soothes and moisturises, mango butter nourishes and softens, cocoa butter creates the rich, creamy lather and a subtle natural fragrance
- No SLS, SLSa, silicones, parabens, phthalates or synthetic fragrances — Hannah’s neuroscience background means she reads every ingredient label with precision
- Palm oil free — palm oil is the most environmentally destructive ingredient in most commercial soaps. Elstree Soaps have never used it
- Cold-process made and cured for 4-6 weeks — this slow curing process creates a harder, longer-lasting bar with a milder pH than hastily-made soap
- Award-winning — Hannah’s soaps have been recognised for outstanding quality
- Vegan (with the exception of her honey soap, made with our own local honey)
How to Get the Best From Your Bar
- Use a soap dish that drains — our beechwood soap dishes are perfect. A wet bar sitting in a puddle of water will dissolve faster
- Allow to dry between uses — a well-drained bar lasts dramatically longer than one left wet
- Works beautifully for face, body and hands — the triple butter formula is gentle enough for daily facial use
